Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director (ED), the Development Director (Director) will spearhead development efforts as Nexus Latinx continues to grow. Given the nature of non-profit work, the candidate must have a passion for public sector service and community engagement. An ideal candidate will want to gain experience in grant writing, community and economic development, and international affairs. Assignments are expected to be carried out under limited supervision, therefore only candidates with sound judgment, time management skills, and internal motivation should apply.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute annual fundraising plan
  • Help secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations
  • Manage the implementation program processes, data entry and gift processing
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors
  • Creating and executing a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors
  • Overseeing organization of special events
  • Developing and tracking proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising

Qualifications

The best candidate will be chosen from a pool of currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students who can demonstrate that they seek to gain hands on experience in grassroots community development within an international organization.

  • BA (In progress/ required), MA (Preferred) 
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Grant Fundraising, Databases such as Raisers Edge
